Jennifer Aniston May Have Quietly 'Reconnected' With a Famous Ex After Their Viral 2020 Reunion
Jennifer Aniston‘s 2020 SAG Awards win led to a viral Hollywood reunion behind the scenes, but what reportedly happened afterward was far more unexpected.
Aniston had just claimed her award for The Morning Show when she ran into her ex-husband Brad Pitt, who had picked up a statuette for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The meet-cute moment had some fans foaming at the mouth for a romantic reunion (Not a good idea, people!), but the Daily Mail is reporting that it did lead to a rekindled friendship.
‘During season 2 of The Morning Show, Brad was coming to set and having lunch with Jen in her trailer. He would arrive and get dropped directly at her trailer for a private lunch just the two of them, and then he would leave once filming for Jen resumed,” a production insider alleged, adding that Pitt would “come to set at least once a week.”
The duo knew that they “couldn’t be seen out in public together,” so Aniston’s home was also a safe space for them to hang out. The source also noted that this was a “platonic relationship;” it was “nothing more” than that.
A second insider added, “He was quickly reminded of just how important Jennifer had been in his life. He genuinely enjoyed reconnecting with her, spending time together away from the spotlight and just being friends; having private lunches was just really nice. She was, and continues to be, one of the few people he feels he can trust completely.”
Still, the former couple’s chemistry was on display in a September 2020 table read of Fast Times at Ridgemont High during the pandemic. Aniston played Linda Barrett, and Pitt played Brad Hamilton. The scene they had to re-enact was a dream sex sequence which made everyone, including narrator Morgan Freeman, blush.
“She reached out and grabs him for a kiss, pulling him close,” Freeman narrated. “Then she pushes him away, so he can watch as she carefully unstraps the top of her bathing suit. The incredible Linda Barrett breasts fall loose (‘Lord have mercy,’ Freeman added). Then, she takes Brad’s hands and places them on her as she begins unbuttoning his shirt; they are just about to fall into passionate lovemaking when we hear—”
Aniston and Pitt were married in July 2000 and divorced in October 2005 after Pitt’s affair with Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie became Hollywood’s biggest love triangle.
