Jet2 issues update for passengers flying from major UK airport
Jet2 has issued an update to customers flying from one airport in the UK. The airline and holiday provider has launched an offer for passengers travelling from Leeds Bradford Airport after easyJet said that it would no longer fly from the airport. Jet2 said it has launched dedicated offers for customers and independent travel agents in a move that "further underlines the company’s long-standing commitment to the airport".
It is giving customers who are planning holidays from Leeds Bradford Airport £100 off all holiday bookings through the code YORKSHIRE100 and 10% off flights through the code YORKSHIRE10. Jet2 first started operating from Leeds Bradford Airport in 2003 with two aircraft. It has grown significantly since then to become Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator. The airline is now operating its biggest ever programme from Leeds Bradford Airport, with 65 destinations on sale. Meanwhile, it has plans to launch six new destinations in response to continued demand: Egypt (Hurghada & Sharm el Sheikh), Tunisia, Preveza, Santorini and Tivat (Montenegro).

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said: "We have been proudly operating from Leeds Bradford Airport since 2003, when we launched with just two aircraft, and since then we have grown to become Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator.
"Our longstanding commitment to the region has never been stronger, and we want to say thank you to our loyal customers and independent travel agent partners by launching these brand-new offers today."
He added: "Customers deserve the best experience and choice when it comes to their well-deserved holidays, and that is what we look forward to continuing to provide from Leeds Bradford for many years to come. Whether it’s a sunshine getaway, a ski trip or a city break escape, this offer makes booking that holiday even easier, and we know our loyal customers will be delighted."
It comes after easyJet, which offered journeys to Barcelona, Paris, Belfast, Malaga, Majorca and Geneva from the airport, announced that it was withdrawing from Leeds Bradford to "focus on maintaining and developing" its "most popular" routes.
Following the announcement, easyJet told customers with bookings from LBA beyond January 5, 2027, that they can get a free transfer to flights from an alternative airport or a refund.
An EasyJet spokesperson said: "Following a review of our routes from Leeds Bradford Airport, we have made the decision to no longer operate flights from the airport after 5 January.
"Our focus is on maintaining and developing routes which prove most popular with customers."
Meanwhile, Jet2's offers apply to all departures up to and including March 31, 2028 and must be booked by 31st August 2026. Single-parent families can also save £100 on holiday bookings with the code YORKSHIRE100SPF, and solo travellers can save £50 per booking with the code YORKSHIRE50SOLO.
