Princess Kate just put her stamp of approval on a vintage-inspired, autumnal trend. Seen on her way to a church service with Prince William and their children, the royal was photographed wearing a tweed jacket over a white high-neck button-down. And, finished with dainty ruffled lace, the romantic piece was firmly in the family of Victorian-style blouses.

The style, named after the Victorian era (1837–1901), drew inspiration from its titular time period, with additional references pulled from the Edwardian years that followed (1901–1910). The result, first seen in the Fall/Winter 2025 collections of Anna Sui, Isabel Marant, and Chloé, was a contemporary take on a classic silhouette, with traditional high-neck silhouettes and frilly details contrasted by modern power shoulders and new layering tricks. It quickly became a staple on the streets as well, and has since been seen on everyone from Dua Lipa to Bella Hadid to Jennifer Lopez.

Here, Kate wore hers with a pillbox hat and long dangly earrings.

The Wales’s outing came mere days after William’s brother, Prince Harry, was reported to be moving back to the United Kingdom with his wife, Duchess Meghan, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. While Archie was born in England, he and his sister have both been growing up in Montecito, California, where the couple relocated to after stepping back as working members of the royal family in 2020.

While neither Harry nor Meghan will resume their royal duties, they will reportedly spend an extended period of time in the prince’s home country, and are moving in time for the start of Archie and Lilibet’s school year. The location of the family’s new residence is still under wraps, and they will continue to own their California property, as well as their vacation home in Portugal.
