Keir Starmer’s final three failures exposed as ousted PM scrambles to rewrite history
Sir Keir Starmer’s final three failures as Prime Minister have been exposed as he attempts to rewrite history in the final days of his premiership, according to a report.
The exclusive report for GB News, from FACTS4EU, in association with The Campaign for an Independent Britain and Stand for Our Sovereignty, outlines three examples from the past week alone.
The UK was shocked this week by the news that former politician Ann Widdecombe had died, and while Counter Terrorism Police were announcing they had taken over the case, Sir Keir was not in the House of Commons with other MPs; he was in France with Emmanuel Macron.
Following his meeting with Mr Macron and the Coalition of the Willing, the outgoing PM announced his first attempt to rewrite history - a €90billion loan to Ukraine will be provided using borrowed money.
This will, in turn, impose costs on the British taxpayer and make the UK jointly liable.
Announcing the loan, Sir Keir said: “Today’s agreement is the latest demonstration of the UK’s unwavering support for Ukraine.”
The EU Commission used slightly different phrasing to announce Britain’s contribution, instead saying: “The UK will provide a fair and proportionate contribution to the costs arising from borrowing, commensurate with the value of contracts awarded to UK companies.”
The costs of the agreement are undefined and open-ended, with the loan only covering until the end of 2027, and only two-thirds of the money being used for defence.
Since Sir Keir and Mr Macron assembled the Coalition in 2025, Facts4EU have not been able to find any tangible evidence of the assistance it has provided to Ukraine.
The UK has committed £3.75billion already this year for support and will continue to provide £3billion annually for “as long as it takes”.
This is despite reports of the UK’s own armed forces being underfunded.
According to the Cabinet Office, since the full-scale invasion by Russia, the UK has provided £25billion, £16billion in military assistance, and £5.6billion in non-military support.
Lord Redwood told GB News: “Once again Facts4EU have alerted us to the way Keir Starmer gives UK money away to the EU without telling us how we will pay for it or how much it might turn out to be.
“The PM's globe-trotting has cost us dear, giving away the Chagos and rights to impose our own laws and taxes and our money, in desperate attempts to buy a favourable comment from a foreign government as they take advantage of us.
“Mr Burnham has to find ways to pay for all this in what could turn out to be another punishment budget hitting a weak economy with more damaging taxes.”
Sir Keir's second attempt came on Monday when the Prime Minister announced on X he had agreed a “landmark trade deal with Switzerland”.
Trade Secretary Peter Kyle said: “This is the most significant services trade deal the UK has ever negotiated.”
However, the announcement was not for a new trade deal, it was in fact characterised as “the Switzerland enhanced Free Trade Agreement (FTA).”
The original deal was negotiated and signed by the then International Trade Secretary, Liz Truss, in 2020, which commenced at the beginning of 2021.
She said in 2020: “This deal between two services powerhouses is an important part of our mission to be a global hub for services and technology trade.
“It supports a services relationship that is worth over £17billion and provides much-needed certainty for thousands of UK businesses and professionals.”
The enhanced deal began talks under Boris Johnson’s Government. The Department of Business and Trade said the new enhancement will “unlock £5.2billion a year in additional UK services exports to Switzerland in the long run”.
His third attempt came yesterday when it was announced Sir Keir was the first UK Prime Minister to receive the Légion d'honneur from Mr Macron, however the award is actually awarded to over 2,000 people each year and is not nearly considered nearly as prestigious as ‘La Grand-Croix’ which Winston Churchill received.
