Kelly Stafford took one look at the Los Angeles Rams’ 2026 schedule and realized this NFL season may be almost as demanding on her as it is on her husband.

Matthew Stafford’s wife reacted to the Rams’ packed slate on Instagram, pairing a middle finger with a sarcastic assessment of what awaits her family this fall.

“Me just now realizing the Rams play in Australia, play on Christmas, play on Thanksgiving Eve, have 7 prime time games, and DON’T HAVE A REAL BYE WEEK,” Kelly wrote. “Parenting this season will be such a joy.”

Kelly’s frustration isn’t coming from nowhere.

The Rams are projected to travel 34,847 miles during the 2026 regular season, second-most in the NFL behind only the San Francisco 49ers’ staggering 38,105 miles.

Much of Los Angeles’ total comes from opening the season against San Francisco in Melbourne, Australia — the first NFL regular-season game ever played in the country. After crossing the Pacific, the Rams return home for Week 2 before later navigating a schedule filled with additional road trips and marquee television windows.

The Rams rank 27th in the NFL in overall prep and rest conditions, per Sharp Football Analysis, with a minus-six-day net rest differential after enjoying a plus-10 advantage last season. Los Angeles also plays five games with less rest than its opponent, tied for the second-most in the league.

Kelly’s complaint about the Rams not having a “real bye week” also has some statistical backing.

Los Angeles is technically off in Week 11, but its next game comes on Thanksgiving Eve against Green Bay. The Packers are also on a bye the previous week, meaning neither team receives the usual competitive rest advantage. Sharp identifies the Rams and Packers as two of only three teams whose 2026 bye is effectively “negated” in that way.

The Rams are scheduled for seven primetime games, tying an NFL record, with appearances on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas adding two more unusual dates to an already unconventional calendar.

For Kelly, there is another layer to all of it.

She and Matthew have four daughters, and Kelly has regularly brought the children to Rams games. She has previously detailed the logistical headaches involved in getting four kids through airports, hotels and road-game weekends — even before Australia entered the equation.

The schedule is also backloaded. Sharp’s rankings notes that after a difficult opening five weeks and a softer middle stretch, the Rams face the NFL’s toughest schedule of opponents from Week 12 onward.

For Rams fans, Australia, holiday football and seven primetime games sounds like appointment viewing.

For Kelly Stafford, it apparently looks more like 34,847 miles of parenting chaos.
