‘Love Island UK’ Removes Bombshell From Villa After Reported Involvement in 2019 Stabbing Incident
Gabriel Garland’s shocking exit has rocked Love Island UK fans.
The Casa Amor season 13 bombshell has reportedly been removed from the ITV2 dating series after producers became aware of his alleged involvement in a 2019 stabbing case.
“Gabriel has now left the villa and will not be returning,” an ITV spokesperson told Us Weekly in a statement on Monday, June 29.
Garland will still be featured in Sunday night’s episode, where the Casa Amor bombshells meet the ladies from the villa, but will not appear in the remainder of the series.
Us Weekly has reached out to ITV for comment.
While Garland was never convicted for any crime pertaining to the incident, he became embroiled in scandal after reports claimed his name appeared in court documents stemming from a New Year’s Eve altercation.
According to The Sun, court filings stated that Garland, who was 17 at the time, had an altercation with two victims who were stabbed by Vitor Mazzer. Garland’s mother, Joanne, reportedly gave a character statement in court on her son’s behalf.
Mazzer was ultimately found guilty of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following the party held on Casewick Road, London. He spent 42 months behind bars.
Per the report, his appeal against his conviction was denied in April 2024.
Garland was one of six single men who made their debut at Casa Amor, while six single ladies also made their entrance to entice the boys and see if they could forge a romantic connection.
Among the new lady bombshells are Charleen, 25, Mara, 25, Martha, 25, Olivia, 23, Nevaeh, 22 and Julia, 26. As for the men, fans will get to know Tommy, 23, Jordon, 28, Will, 23, Carlos, 22, and Aaron, 26.
The Love Island UK news emerged just as a bombshell across the pond was also removed soon after making her Casa Amor debut on Love Island USA.
Alannah Keyser was pulled from the hit Peacock show after a video resurfaced of her using the N-word, following which she spoke out in a TikTok clip.
“I’m coming on here to address some things that have been circulating online,” she said. “I do want to begin by addressing the video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contains a racial slur.”
She continued, “I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it; that was never my intention. The video is from six years ago, and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore.”
