A 20-year-old man has been arrested on drug and driving offences after a car struck a child riding a scooter.

The 11-year-old boy was riding his scooter over a zebra crossing on Querns Lane, Cirencester, about 14:40 BST on 26 June when he was hit.

He suffered cuts to his hands and fingers and a broken tooth, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A man from Cricklade in Wiltshire, was arrested by Gloucestershire Constabulary on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug, and driving without due care and attention. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
