A man has been arrested by officers investigating a series of sexual assaults on teenage girls in Bracknell.

Thames Valley Police said a 40-year-old man was arrested in the Warfield area of the town at about 1000 BST.

Officers said the arrest followed a call from a member of the public on Tuesday evening. The man is in custody and due to be interviewed later.

The arrest is part of an investigation into three assaults, two on 6 May and one in November.

Det Supt Rob Mason said: "Today's arrest follows a call from a member of the public last night.

"I remain grateful for the overwhelming public response received in relation to this on-going investigation.

"You will appreciate that I cannot go into further detail about the arrest or individual at this stage as proceedings are active.

"A number of officers from the Major Crime Unit, kindly assisted by others from across the force, continue to follow-up a number of inquiries and information received."
