A 27-year-old man has been charged with murdering a man who was found stabbed in a Manchester street.

Karl Hodson, 31, was found by police in Harold Priestnall Close, Newton Heath, at about 1840 BST on 23 March. He died in hospital shortly afterwards.

Thomas Fitzgerald, of Halliday Road, Newton Heath, has been charged with his murder and appeared before magistrates in Manchester on Saturday.

Jamie Smith, also 27, of Newton Heath, is also charged with murder.

He is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court in July.

A 23-year-old man, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed until 6 July.
