Man dies as car ploughs off Derbyshire road

A man has died after the vehicle he was driving ploughed off a road in Derbyshire and hit several trees.

Police said the motorist was in a red Toyota MR2 car which left the A52 between the M1 motorway and Bardills Island on Saturday evening.

Officers said they did not know the driver's name or age and were making inquiries about his identity.

Traffic police investigating the accident have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
