A man who was arrested after armed officers surrounded a flat in Hampshire following reports of a shooting, has been released on bail.
Police were called on Wednesday after a man said he had been shot at with a gun in Mitchell Road, Eastleigh.
The area was searched but no firearms were recovered, police said. The man has been bailed until 3 August.
A police spokeswoman said officers were following up inquiries "to try to corroborate the allegations".
The man who made the report to police was unhurt.
