Man injured in Newtownards stabbing attack

A man has been treated in hospital after being stabbed in Newtownards, County Down in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 57-year-old was stabbed six times in the chest and back but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have said they are working to establish a motive for the attack and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with any information about what happened to contact them.
