A man's body has been recovered from the River Teifi, say police.

A witness reported seeing a man fall from a dinghy at Gwbert, near Cardigan, Ceredigion, as it capsized on the river.

HM Coastguard said it found the man's body at 1810 BST on Friday at the point where the river enters Cardigan Bay.

Dyfed-Powys Police said they were treating the death as unexplained and that the next of kin were being traced.

A force spokesman said officers from Cardigan responded to a report of a small boat capsizing and one person being in the water.

The RNLI and coastguard also responded and a body was recovered from the sea next to Gwbert beach.
