Meghan Markle was ‘sad’ on trip to UK - source speaks out

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited the UK in July along with their two children - but Meghan was reportedly upset for one reason. The Duchess was planning to join Prince Harry on some of his engagements, but was not able to do so in the end.

The family were in the UK to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham. However, security concerns meant Meghan did not attend any public-facing engagements. A source told People that she felt a “lot of sadness” at not being able to be by the prince’s side. The source added that Meghan is “very supportive” of Harry, reports Hello! Magazine.

The prince, who now lives in the US with his wife, Meghan Markle and their two children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, were hosted by the King and Queen Camilla during their visit to Britain.

Prince Harry reportedly wants to visit his family more.

The Duke of Sussex is planning to lobby the Home Secretary over his security arrangements. After he stepped down from his royal duties in 2020, his security detail was withdrawn.

In the years since, he has been in a battle to get it back, or at least some form of security for himself and his family - so far to no avail.

If he were to enter into a protection agreement, he could visit the UK more often. The prince is allegedly set to continue his campaign for taxpayer-funded security in the UK amid hopes he could spend more time with his family.

He lost an appeal against the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office last year after the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures decided he should receive a reduced level of security protection while in the country.

But after his recent visit to the UK, Harry is reportedly determined to pursue the arrangements once again.

Harry has previously argued his children cannot “feel at home” in the UK if it is “not possible to keep them safe” there, and that he has been “singled out” for “inferior treatment” with his safety, security and life “at stake”, reports The Independent.
