A climber has moved closer to his goal of conquering the world's seven highest peaks by scaling Denali in the US.

Bob Kerr, 32, from Melvich, now "only" needs to tackle Everest and Mount Vinson, in the Antarctic.

The Assynt Mountain Rescue Team member had already climbed Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, Elbrus and Carstensz Pyramid.

Mr Kerr reached the summit of Denali with a number of mountaineers he has previously climbed with.

Also known as Mount McKinley, the 20,320ft (6,194m) mountain is one of the coldest outside of Antarctica.
