A memorial service has taken place for a father and son who were killed when their light aircraft crashed in Spain.

Bruce Hook, 63, from Worcester and his 25-year-old son Ian, from Kenilworth, Warwickshire, died shortly after taking off from Menorca on 28 May.

The pair had entered an annual flying competition and were practicing when their twin-engine plane nose-dived.

A service was held earlier at St Mary's Church in Lapworth, Warwickshire, near the family's commercial garage.

Mr Hook, a father-of-two, had owned the Willpower Garage in Lapworth, Warwickshire, for more than 20 years.

He had been flying the plane when it crashed near the San Luis aerodrome in Menorca.

A Spanish civil aviation authority investigation and judicial authority investigation is continuing into the crash.
