Met Police investigate Croydon child abduction reports

Police are investigating reports that a boy has been abducted in south London.

They said the possible kidnapping in Walton Green, New Addington, Croydon, happened at 1750 BST on Wednesday.

The force was told a vehicle, which is likely to have been a dark four-wheel drive car, pulled over and a white boy aged about 10 was allegedly taken.

Officers are trying to find the vehicle involved and establish what happened and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

"At present we do not know the identity of the boy supposedly involved, and there are no missing-child reports that link to this inquiry," a spokesman for Metropolitan Police said.
