A pilot has escaped with minor injuries after his light aircraft crash landed near an airfield in Cornwall.

A member of the public contacted the Cornish Gliding Club after spotting the aircraft go down near Trevellas Airfield at about 1056 BST.

Fire crews and the ambulance service were sent to the plane, which came to rest in a field.

The pilot got out safely and did not need hospital treatment. Foam was used to make the aircraft safe.
