'Missing' tourist sparked search while asleep in room

A pensioner sparked a search and rescue operation in Shetland after switching rooms in a youth hostel without telling her travel companions.

The 72-year-old woman, from Yorkshire, was reported missing on Monday night after a friend thought she had not returned to the hostel in Lerwick.

Shetland Coastguard scrambled its rescue helicopter, alongside other search teams.

The search was called off when she appeared for breakfast.
