Morgan Wallen Breaks His Tie With Two Fellow Country Superstars

Morgan Wallen earns his twenty-second No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart as “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” his collaboration with Ella Langley, rises to the summit. This latest champion pushes Wallen ahead of Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett, giving him sole possession of the eighth-most leaders in the ranking’s history. “I Can’t Love You Anymore” is Wallen’s third new Country Airplay No. 1 of 2026 and replaces his own “Don’t We,” which falls from first to third place.

In the span of less than a decade, Morgan Wallen has gone from a relatively unknown singer-songwriter trying to find his audience to one of country music’s biggest stars. He has only released four full-length albums, but all of them have produced many hit songs – more than some acts will manage throughout an entire career. These days, he seems to be in an untouchable phase, where nearly anything he chooses as a single rises all the way to No. 1.

Wallen is once again in charge of the Country Airplay chart, and he makes history this frame in multiple ways. As one Wallen cut replaces another in the uppermost rung, the singer moves up on the ranking of artists with the most leaders of all time on what can be considered perhaps the most competitive of Billboard’s country radio rundowns.

Wallen returns to the summit of the Country Airplay chart alongside Ella Langley, who has broken out as not just a country favorite, but a superstar and hitmaker this year thanks in part to “Choosin’ Texas.” The two take “I Can’t Love You Anymore” to the top spot a little more than three months after it debuted. In its fifteenth frame on the tally, the collaboration becomes Langley’s fifth ruler and Wallen’s twenty-second.

With 22 No. 1 hits on the Country Airplay chart to his name, Wallen advances once more on a historic ranking. Last week, he sat side-by-side with Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett, as the three men jointly claimed the eighth-most leaders ever. Now, Wallen holds that distinction on his own, while Urban and Rhett drop into a tie for ninth place.

Wallen will have to rack up four additional No. 1 hits before he advances again on the same all-time ranking. Alan Jackson, George Strait and Luke Bryan are all tied for the fifth-most rulers with 26 apiece. Kenny Chesney continues to lead all acts with 33 No. 1s. He is followed by Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean, who have earned 30, 29 and 27 appearances at No. 1, respectively.

So far in 2026, Wallen has collected three new No. 1 hits on the Country Airplay chart. In addition to “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” both “20 Cigarettes” and “Don’t We,” singles from his I’m the Problem album, have led the charge. Last year, four cuts from the same full-length — “I Got Better,” “I’m the Problem,” “Just in Case” and “Love Somebody” — reached the throne on the same ranking.

2026 is now tied with 2023 and 2022, as Wallen also earned three new Country Airplay champions in each of those years. 2024 remains his most successful period on the calendar, with an incredible five new No. 1 songs on the radio tally.

Just last week, Wallen dominated the Country Airplay chart with his solo cut “Don’t We.” This frame, as that single makes way for “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” it falls from No. 1 to No. 3.
