Motorcyclist killed in North Yorkshire 4x4 crash

A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a 4x4 vehicle in North Yorkshire.

The 42-year-old man was riding a Kawasaki bike on the B6479 Ingleton to Hawes road, in Ribbleshead, when the crash happened on Thursday night.

The bike was travelling from Settle towards Ribbleshead when it collided with a Land Rover Defender on the opposite carriageway.

The motorcyclist, who is from Wigan, died at the scene. He has not been named. The car driver was not injured.

Witnesses have been asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
