NEW DELHI: The Madhya Pradesh high court has issued notice to the state government on a plea alleging that nearly 1,900 government schools in the state are running without a single teacher.A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Pradeep Mittal took up the case on July 14 and ordered notice to be issued to the respondents, making it returnable within four weeks, as per a report by LiveLaw.The plea was filed by advocate Saurabh Tripathi, who argued the case himself.

It is based on a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General, which looked at 66,814 government schools in Madhya Pradesh between 2018 and March 2023.
