A convicted murderer who absconded from an open prison in South Gloucestershire has been found.

Trevor Dixon Williams, 52, who is serving a life sentence, left Leyhill Prison on 31 May.

Police thought he may have been intending to make his way to Hull in East Yorkshire, where he is known to have family.

A police spokeswoman said he had been found in Bristol at the weekend. He has been returned to the prison, she added.
