The road‑rage incident involving an Ola cab and a Swift car occurred on the night of August 15 at 9.35 pm on Sarsole village road in sector 20 near Nerul pond.

NAVI MUMBAI: In a road-rage incident in Nerul, following an argument between the drivers of an Ola cab and a Swift car, the Swift driver allegedly assaulted the cab driver on the head with a bamboo stick, causing severe injuries.The incident occurred on the night of August 15 after the Swift driver claimed that the Ola cab driver had dangerously cut him off while overtaking on an internal road in Nerul.The Swift driver drove with the cab driver on the bonnet for about 2 kms, despite the cab driver shouting for help while dangling dangerously and requesting to stop the car as he could fall from the speeding car and could be killed.As the car slowed down, the cab driver jumped off the bonnet after which the car driver sped away leaving the cab driver injured on the road.The incident occured on the stretch of Sarsole village road in sector 20 near Nerul pond on Aug 15 around 9.35 pm.Ajay Kamble, senior inspector of Nerul said, "The injured cab driver identified as Pradeepkumar Pandey (27), a resident of Naigaon registered an FIR at Nerul police station against the unidentified accused car driver, who is absconding.

Accordingly, we have invoked relevant BNS sections against the accused for the offences of voluntarily causing hurt/ grievous hurt using dangerous weapons or means, voluntarily causing simple hurt, rash or negligent driving or riding on a public way in a manner that endangers human life or is likely to cause hurt or injury to any person and causing simple hurt to any person through a rash or negligent act that endangers human life or personal safety."Stay updated with the latest Navi Mumbai news.
