Netflix
Streaming platform Netflix has sent fans into a frenzy with the first look at one of its most anticipated limited series of the year. The Altruists, a real-life drama charting the spectacular collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, is heading to the streaming giant on November 19 and one star in particular is stealing the spotlight. Leading the show are Ozark star Julia Garner and House of Guinness's Anthony Boyle, who takes on the role of Sam Bankman-Fried, the man behind both FTX and cryptocurrency trading firm Alameda Research.
Garner steps into the shoes of Caroline Ellison, Bankman-Fried's business partner and romantic partner, who stood alongside him as FTX dramatically imploded in 2022, with billions of dollars in customer funds allegedly misappropriated. But it is Heated Rivalry actor Hudson Williams' role as Duncan Rheingans-Yoo that has sent fans over the edge.

"I'm so sat for this! Can't wait to see Hudson in it," one enthusiastic fan declared on X, while another made their viewing intentions crystal clear, saying: "We will be watching for Hudson Williams." The response has been nothing short of electric, with Hudson's involvement appearing to be a major draw for a dedicated fanbase eager to see him return to screens.
"I'll be sat for this probably very boring show just for Hudson," one fan said with honesty. Another added: "I'm here for Hudson Williams's five minutes of screen time."
"Aye aye my boss Hudson Williams," one fan added, with another sharing: "Tuning in for Hudson Williams." Other eager responses included: "Waiting to see Hudson Williams!", "A glimpse of the Hudson character, pls?", "Any stills of Hudson’s character??" and "Waiting for Hudson Williams to appear".
Alex Lawther also joins as Sam Trabucco, co-CEO of Alameda Research, while Matt Rife portrays Ryan Salame, CEO of FTX Digital Markets.
FTX was founded in 2019 and rapidly grew into one of the world's most prominent cryptocurrency exchanges. Yet within just three years, the platform had spectacularly collapsed, leaving billions of dollars in customer funds unaccounted for and sending shockwaves through the global financial world.
Both Bankman-Fried and Ellison were subsequently convicted multiple counts of wire and securities fraud, as well as money laundering.
The Altruists arrives on Netflix on November 19.
