A senior Nottinghamshire police officer has appeared in court charged with stealing make-up from a Tesco store.

Ch Insp Kim Molloy, 44, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of theft at Derby Crown Court.

She is accused of stealing Max Factor make-up worth £12.72 from the Tesco Extra store in Top Valley, Nottingham on 24 November 2009.

Ms Molloy, who is suspended from the force, will stand trial in the week beginning 8 November.

She was granted bail at Friday's hearing.
