Scherzinger said dance partner Derek Hough had made her "a better person"

Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger has been crowned champion of US TV show Dancing With The Stars.

The singer and partner Derek Hough jived and tangoed their way to victory in the show's 10th season.

Olympic skater Evan Lysacek was second while sports reporter Erin Andrews finished in third place.

Judge Len Goodman, who also appears on UK show Strictly Come Dancing, said marking the finalists' tangos was "the hardest job we've ever had".

Scherzinger, who follows in the footsteps of previous winners including Donny Osmond, said: "This has been probably the greatest reward personally, this whole personal journey.

"I've learned so much about myself. I've learned so much about Derek Hough - he's made me a better person through this."
