Noah Kahan begs fans to use the toilet after concertgoer ‘poos on the floor’

Singer Noah Kahan has issued an extraordinary plea to concertgoers as the debate rages on around the etiquette of wearing nappies at concerts.

In a bid to be at the front of the crowd for major performances – and not miss a moment – die-hard fans have taken to using nappies so they don’t have to leave their spot in the audience to go to the toilet.

But not only is that quite a horrifying sentence to read, it’s even more horrific to experience – and it’s this that Kahan was trying to emphasise, after an incredibly gross clip of the… aftermath went viral.

On Saturday evening, the Stick Season hitmaker tweeted: ‘If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao.’

He continued: ‘I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29-year-old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.’

After his unexpected revelation, Kahan then later added: ‘I s**t myself onstage in Charlottesville but that’s because I am dedicated to my craft.’

‘The fact that people wear diapers just to hold barricade is all the evidence I need that we should have seated pits,’ responded Raven, while Phoebe wrote: ‘It’s so embarrassing when the artist finds out about this sort of stuff happening at their shows. I’d be so disgusted like wtf [sic.].’

‘I did not have this tweet coming from Noah about a show in Philly on my 2026 bingo card. Oh my GOD,’ added Zac.

‘What…. is … going on here? What are ya’ll doing at concerts??’ asked Carine on X, while another fan insisted that ‘your sphincter shouldn’t even be relaxed enough’ to use a nappy in the middle of a crowd of thousands.

Kahan played a show at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Friday night, setting a new record with a reported 45,341 fans in attendance.

However, it appears this came with a rather unfortunate consequence as fans believe the music star was responding to rather horrendous footage that appeared to be from the concert, which was being shared on X.

Account @KahanArchive posted a 12-second clip in the comments, adding ‘context for everyone’, which showed what looked suspiciously like human faeces on the floor under an empty seat, mid-show, which had also been smeared onto a walkway.

On Reddit, a user by the name FF007F then claimed they had been sat in the row behind the perpetrator and seen them (brace yourselves) ‘picking actual pieces of poop out of their butt and put [sic.] it on the floor’.

They added: ‘She started trying to wafflestomp the turds and acted like nothing happened but we flagged down security. One of the most unreal concert experiences I’ve ever witnessed.’

Of course this account can’t be verified, but it certainly adds to the concerning trend of late.

‘What a horrible day to have eyes,’ another fan responded after reading these comments.

‘I love Noah Kahan to pieces, but the bathroom will win every time. I’m not cr***ing my pants for you, Noah!’ added another, while other reasonable concertgoer shared that they always have a song picked out in advance which ‘I love slightly less than the others and it’s kinda long’ so they are ready to take a bathroom break.

But clearly the culture of ‘winning’ when it comes to proving your dedicated fandom of someone is going too far, although of course a minority will have medical reasons for needing to wear a diaper.

However, the volume of recent experiences suggest it has gone way beyond that, with this as the latest ‘hack’ to maximise your concert experience.

Just recently Olivia Rodrigo also spoke about the phenomenon and admitted she could sometimes ‘smell’ the nappies of the fans closest to her.

While promoting her new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, the pop star appeared on KISS Radio and spoke about being at festivals where fans opt to do that, adding: ‘That’s been an experience as a performer that I’ve smelled.’

‘I think about it kind of often,’ she admitted, which I’m not surprised by at all – that kind of stench can linger on the mind.

This is also not the only plea to fans that Kahan has recetly had to make, after begging them to stop stealing a road sign mentioned in one of his songs.

A lyric in his 2022 song The View Between Villages, which is a mainstay on TilTok, goes: ‘Passed Alger Brook Road, I’m over the bridge / A minute from home, but I feel so far from it.’

He wrote on Instagram that it’s repeated removal and replacement was ‘a total disrespect to the folks who live on that road and a headache for the town to deal with’.

‘I hate that because I put the road name in a song that some people have taken that as an invitation to disrupt the lives of the hardworking and kind folks who frequent it,’ he added.

The singer released his fourth studio album, The Great Divide, earlier this year and has since begun his sold-out world tour in the US, before beginning the international leg in Australia in September.
