PHILANTHROPISTS are younger, more generous, and more ambitious – despite the downturn, a report from Barclays Wealth will say today.

“Tomorrow’s philanthropist” has a stronger commitment to charity than previous generations, the survey will say, as they feel more responsibility to give generously, despite the impact of the worldwide slump.

Three quarters of the 500 high net worth UK and US individuals surveyed have not decreased their philanthropic contributions, whilst more than one in four (26 per cent) have increased their giving in the last 18 months, Barclays Wealth will say.
