Plan for £32m food factory scheme in Norfolk
A supermarket is seeking planning permission to regenerate a 32-acre (13-hectare) former food factory in Norfolk at a cost of £32m.
Tesco wants to expand its store at King's Lynn near the former Campbell Foods factory bought in 2009.
The redevelopment promises 900 new jobs at a larger supermarket, a new business park, car showroom, pub and restaurant.
Nick Gellatly from Tesco said: "We bought the Campbell's site during the recession because of its potential."
The Hardwick Road Tesco store was built 23 years ago and the plans are due to be considered by King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council on 16 June.
"We want to revitalise the site and make best use of its historic location," Mr Gellatley said.
"If granted permission we'll see hundreds of new jobs brought back into the area."
