Police are continuing to question two people held on suspicion of murder after a teenager died in a pond in Wigan.

Officers were called to Ladies Lane, Hindley, at 0350 BST on Sunday after reports of an assault. Witnesses said a boy had gone into the pond.

The body of Dylan Aaron, 17, from Margaret Street in Hindley, was recovered from the water at 0805 BST.

The men, aged 26 and 34, are also being held on suspicion of assault.

Police have until 1400 BST to question the men.

Police said a second boy received minor injuries in the incident.

Supt Phil Unsworth, of Greater Manchester Police, has appealed to anyone with any information to contact police.
