Thousands of pounds worth of power tools have been stolen during a spate of thefts in Surrey.

Surrey Police said equipment worth £6,500 was taken from two vehicles in the car park of a hotel on London Road, Bagshot, overnight on Tuesday.

During the day, £280 worth of tools, including drills and a saw, were stolen from a van in the Guildford Road area of the town.

Pc Debbie Reece, said: "It is very unfortunate that two people visiting the area have become the victims of tool thefts which have resulted in the loss of thousands of pounds worth of equipment.

"Where possible, our advice is to not keep tools in vehicles and leave a note on the vehicle advising would-be thieves that no tools are stored within."
