Power has been restored to customers in Bristol who lost supplies after a fire at an underground sub-station.

A Western Power spokeswoman said two high voltage cables were damaged, causing a blackout to 644 customers, including the city's crown court.

Cases were halted and the building evacuated while Avon Fire Service crews dealt with the blaze.

Customers have been reconnected to an alternative supply while repairs are carried out.
