Preston student killed in Ecuador ravine fall
A former Lancashire student has died after falling from cliffs in Ecuador while on holiday with friends.
Tony Prowell was living in Ribbleton, Preston, after he graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a degree in forensic science last year.
It is believed the 26-year-old, who was originally from Hull, had been riding a quad bike when it plunged 150m (492ft) into a ravine last Wednesday.
His body is expected to be flown home next week.
The accident happened near the River Pastaza, in Banos.
A Foreign Office spokesman said they were providing consular assistance to Mr Prowell's family.
