Prince Harry was met with backlash as his continued security row returned to headlines after it was revealed that his wife, Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, could be accompanying him on an upcoming UK visit. The Duke of Sussex is said to be rethinking the trip, which was expected to take place next month, after his request for police protection was denied. It's been four years since the children last saw their grandfather, King Charles, in person, and the monarch has offered to put the family up at an unnamed royal residence.

During Monday's episode (June 29) of GB News, presenters Tom Harwood and Dawn Neesom were joined by reporter Cameron Walker, who explained: "RAVEC, the royal and VIP executive committee of the Home Office, has declined to give him [Prince Harry] extra security while he's in the UK. I think Harry was banking on that when his team announced that Meghan and their two children would be accompanying him for the first time since 2022.

GB News then aired a clip from Prince Harry's last UK trip in September, featuring a woman whose identity was blurred in the background. Cameron shared: "The lady you can see, whose face we have blurred, is Prince Harry's known stalker.

"Not only sat just feet away from him in court, but also appeared at this event, and travelled to Nigeria when Harry was there with Meghan a couple of years ago. So clearly, it is deemed a bit of a security risk.

"Members of his own team had to body block her from jumping in front of the car or doing something quite dangerous, potentially, and we know that she has severe mental health problems."

Highlighting the major differences between this visit and that of a working royal, the reporter pointed out: "There would be metal crash barriers everywhere, there would be police, and there would be police motobike riders and a back-up car. None of that Harry gets when he's in the United Kingdom. What he's expected to get next week is just a police liaison phone number."

Dawn Neesom chimed in with: "Harry has offered to pay for the security himself, but the argument is that you can't just hire royal security like that because everyone would be trying to hire from the Metropolitan police."

Cameron echoed: "Exactly, they're saying the Metropolitan Police is not for sale, that's what a judge has ruled. Harry does have his own security that he pays for, but they cannot carry firearms, and they don't have access to MI5 intelligence within the UK."

Meanwhile, Tom added: "Could it be argued that he's using the children as a bargaining chip?" The GB News reporter responded: "It's a very good argument, I think that is one of the arguments that have been made against him." This comes after a bombshell statement from a spokesperson for the Duke, who said that Harry is continuing to explore "every available option" to "enable the visit to proceed safely".
