Queen honours 'Allo 'Allo actress

'Allo 'Allo actress Michelle Vicki Fowler has been appointed MBE for her charity work.

Ms Fowler, of Loughton, Essex, played waitress Yvette Carte-Blanche in the hit BBC comedy series which ran for ten years from 1982.

She has been granted the award in the Queen's Birthday Honours for her charity work.

Meanwhile, Essex-based Guyanese writer Wilson Harris, 89, has been knighted for his services to literature.

The honours have been bestowed to mark Queen Elizabeth II's birthday.

Anthony Carr, 59, of Billiricay, academy director of youth development at West Ham football club, has also become an MBE for services to football.

CBE: Stephen Julian Przybylski, of Chelmsford, head of Strategy and Policy, Crown Prosecution Service.

OBE: Mary Archer, of Waltham Abbey, chief officer, Essex Probation Area, Ministry of Justice. (Waltham Abbey, Essex); Ann Wild, of Ilford, for services to Wheelchair Basketball.

MBE: John Bosworth, of Earls Colne, Essex, for services to Bridge End Gardens Saffron Walden; Joan Louisa Coates, of Colchester, for services to the community in Alresford, Colchester; Simon Henry Cooke, of Saffron Walden, governor of Newport Free Grammar School, for voluntary service to Education.
