Police who searched a river for a man missing from his home in Thurso since April have said he may have been seen more than 200 miles away in Aberdeen.

Northern Constabulary said there had been a possible sighting of Michael Sinclair on a disused railway line between Garthdee and Cults.

The 44-year-old was last seen at his home on 21 April.

Officers and search dogs from Northern and Strathclyde Police made a search of the River Thurso last month.

The British Red Cross has also been assisting in the search for Mr Sinclair.
