Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to call Britain home again very soon, with the couple and their children expected to return to the UK in just a matter of days. The news broke on Wednesday that the family will be flying to the UK at the end of August and will be staying here for a long period of time.

It is believed this is to see whether they will settle in the UK for good, with plans to keep hold of their Montecito mansion for now. It is reported that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been enrolled in UK schools, and the family have found a private home to stay in. This is not a royal residence, with no plans for the couple to return to life as working royals at the moment.

While many people across the UK have expressed mixed views on Harry and Meghan’s return, the Royal Family have remained quiet.

It was reported by The Telegraph and The Sun that the King was informed of the news on Sunday and was pleased he would see the Sussex family more. It is believed Prince William and Princess Catherine were also informed ahead of the public announcement.

It is not known how much time Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, plan to spend with the royals when they return to the UK, but one former member of royal staff has said that there is one royal event the family could attend if their return goes well.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles between 2004 and 2011 before he was monarch, said that if the return is going well, it is likely we could see Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet spend Christmas with the royals at Sandringham.

This is something Archie and Lilibet have never done, with Harry and Meghan having last been part of the royal Christmas festivities in 2018.

Speaking to CasinoHawks, Harrold said: “If it all goes nicely and there are no upsets, I think the King will invite them for Christmas. I don't think it’s out of the question.

“But they need to behave. They will have to come quietly and do their own thing. Public opinion will have to believe they are here for the right reasons.”

The location Harry and Meghan will move to in the UK with their children has not been revealed for security reasons.
