Builders have been urged to increase security measures after thousands of pounds worth of machinery was stolen.

Surrey Police said in the most recent incident a tractor and a cement mixer were taken from a house in Frensham.

A 4x4 vehicle and a mini digger worth £8,000 were stolen from Chiddingfold and an excavator and a dumper worth £20,000 were also taken from Ash Vale.

The force suggests equipment left on site should be chained and fitted with anti-theft devices.
