Sex and the City 2 has kept its place at the top of the UK and Ireland box office chart in its second week of release.

The hit sequel was widely panned by critics but still took £2.47m in takings between Friday and Sunday.

Streetdance 3D and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time stayed at number two and number three respectively.

The highest new entry was Death At A Funeral at four. Neil LaBute's comedy made £696,280.

Ridley Scott's Robin Hood dropped one place to number five, as did The Tooth Fairy, starring Julie Andrews, which slipped to six.

Two new entries took the seventh and eighth spots - Noel Clarke's thriller 4,3,2,1 and romantic comedy She's Out of My League respectively.

Iron Man 2, now in its sixth week on the chart, is at number nine.

Space Chimps 2: Zartog Strikes Back dropped three places to number 10.
