A postal firm that was part of an operation to cheat Royal Mail has been ordered to repay more than £1m.

Global Express Worldwide Ltd, based in Slough, Berkshire, was "one of the principal companies used to carry out the fraud", Southwark Crown Court previously heard.

It made more than £3m from criminal activity, Judge Philip Bartle KC determined.

The firm previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud, although its director Balginder Sandhu, 49, was found not guilty of the charge.

The wider fraud operation was led by Narinder Sandhu, 64, through his company Packpost International Ltd, the judge previously said.

From 2008 to 2017, falsely categorised mail was sent through firms in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Prosecutors previously said Royal Mail had lost about £70m.

Global Express Worldwide was ordered to pay £1,071,878.48 within three months of the judge's order on 12 August.

For its part in the fraud conspiracy, it was fined £100.

Balginder Sandhu, its sole director since 2010, was given time to consider whether to apply for directions concerning the liability remaining on a mortgage for a flat in Thames Avenue, Windsor.

The judge ordered that no further action would be taken against Worldwide Transport Express Ltd, which also admitted conspiracy to defraud and was dissolved in 2025.
