A fire on Staffordshire moorlands is being treated as arson.

The blaze in Cheadle Park, near Cheadle, destroyed more than 5,000 sq ft (1,524 sq metres) of grassland.

Six fire engines were sent to the scene and it took more than three hours before the fire was extinguished at 2100 BST on Sunday.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said dry conditions meant the fire spread quickly. No-one was hurt and police are now investigating the cause.
