Sustainability the focus for Vanuatu's cattle industry - ABC International Development

Cows were originally introduced in Vanuatu to keep the grass down on coconut plantations. But it turned out the cattle meat was some of the sweetest in the world and by 1992, when the ABC visited Vanuatu, beef had become the country's second biggest earner.

Rebecca Le Tourneau from A Question of Survival saw first-hand how ni-Vanuatu land holders were working closely with an Australian man, David McFarlaine, as part of an Australian Aid project designed to help ensure Vanuautu's cattle industry developed into a sustainable one.
