Swansea sons pay tribute to Libya plane crash victim

The sons of a Swansea woman who was among the 103 people killed in last month's Libya plane disaster have paid tribute to her.

Priscilla Savathree Collick, 53, from Waunarlwydd, a South African national, was on board the Afriqiyah Airways jet.

Her sons Sean, 24, and Kieran, 14, said she was as a "loving, kind hearted person who always looked after others."

The tribute has been made following the formal identification of Mrs Collick's body.

The Airbus 330 crashed after missing the runway at Tripoli airport as it flew in from South Africa on 12 May.

In a statement, issued through South Wales Police, Sean said: "I will miss my mum for many reasons; loving the laughs that we had and also the fun that only my mum could provide.

"Life will not be the same without her; I only have one mum and she is gone. She will be forever in my heart, and I will always try and do what she wanted me to do.

"It is a great loss not only to me and my brother, but also the people who knew her, as they are in just as much shock.

"Mum, we are your boys. We are both like you and we will never forget you. You might be gone but you're never forgotten."

Mrs Collick worked at an Asda store in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, and was visiting her mother in South Africa.

She had lived in Swansea for almost 30 years.

A preliminary inquiry has found the crash was not caused by mechanical failure.

The "black box" recorders indicated that the Afriqiyah Airways plane had enough fuel and made no call for help.

The plane was carrying 93 passengers and 11 crew.

A nine-year-old Dutch boy was the sole survivor of the crash.
