A taxi driver has been robbed at knifepoint in the Turf Lodge area of west Belfast.

The driver picked up the man at a taxi depot on the Glen Road at 0215 BST on Monday and took him to Monagh Road.

The man then produced a knife and threatened the driver, forcing him to hand over his takings.

He then pulled the radio microphone from the dashboard before getting out of the car.

The taxi driver drove off before stopping a short distance away.

The robber again approached the car and opened the driver's door. The taxi driver then drove off.
