Taylor Swift sent a sweet message to Alan Jackson during his Nashville farewell show.

“I just want to say thank you for your decades of your incredible songwriting and performances and the way that means so much to us, the fans,” Swift, 36, said in a video that played during the Saturday, June 27, show. “I think my favorite song of yours is ‘Drive’ because in that song you paint such a picture and let us into the details of your life and I know that was an example that was so good for me to see at a young age — an artist who’s just letting fans into details of his life.”

She continued, “I appreciate you so much for the ways that you have treated me and other artists and writers with just such support and encouragement over the years, and I’m so excited for you doing this show and just appreciate you so much. Love you!”

Jackson’s performance at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium for his Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale show featured cameos from a number of the icon’s fellow artists, including Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and more.

Swift, however, was not in attendance as fans speculate she and fiancé Travis Kelce are tying the knot days after Jackson’s show. (The upcoming wedding is rumored to be at New York City’s Madison Square Garden over July 4 weekend.)

Jackson announced in 2025 that he would be stepping back from tour performances amid his ongoing health battle.

“Y’all may have heard that I’m winding down,” Jackson said on stage in an October 2025 video shared via Instagram. “In fact, this is my last road show of my career.”

He continued, “I appreciate [the applause]. Y’all are gonna make me tear up here, but I just felt like I had to end it all where it all started — and that’s [in] Nashville, Tennessee [a.k.a.] Music City, where country music lives. I gotta do the last one there.”

Jackson announced in September 2021 that he had been battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease for a decade. The hereditary disorder affects the nervous system, typically causing progressive loss of muscle tissue and loss of sensation in the arms and legs.

“I have this neuropathy and neurological disease. It’s genetic that I inherited from my daddy,” Jackson said on the Today show in 2021. “There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years, and it’s getting more and more obvious. I know I’m stumbling around on stage, and now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so, I just feel very uncomfortable.”

He added, “It’s not going to kill me. It’s not deadly, but it’s related [to] muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease.”
