Mexico City was absolutely rocking Tuesday night, and so were the broadcasters.
As Mexico played in their home country against Ecuador in the World Cup Round of 32 at Azteca Stadium, everything began to come unglued when the host nation scored and eventually won 2-0.
On the Telemundo broadcast, José Luis López Salido and Jorge Calvo went wild when Julián Quiñones took a shot from the top of the box in the 22nd minute that screamed past the keeper for a 1-0 advantage.

“Se empinaaaaaa,” Lopez Salido said — loosely translating to readying for a shot — for at least five seconds, as striker Julián Quiñones screamed it past the Ecuadorian keeper for a goal.
The excitement was so strong that Calvo, the color commentator, burst out into laughter.
“Gooooool,” Lopez Salido said on the telecast for at least 15 to 20 seconds on the telecast as the crowd went berserk.
“Vaya golazo! El espectacular tanto de Julián Quiñones,” which roughly translates to “What a goal! A spectacular goal by Julián Quiñones.”

Ecuador struggled to recover all night Tuesday as Mexico beat them up early and often, scoring again just nine minutes later.
In total, Ecuador had just one shot on target as they were sent packing by Mexico, who will be difficult for anyone to beat in their home country as long as they play in Azteca Stadium.
It was a big moment for Mexican soccer fans, as they advanced for the first time since 1986, with the curse being known as “el quinto partido” (the fifth game).
They’ve suffered several heartbreaks since 1986, when they hosted the World Cup and were eliminated by West Germany in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals.
Mexico will face the winner of the England-DR Congo match Sunday in the Round of 16.
