Paramount+ is chronicling the Texas Tech football team’s offseason in a new, upcoming docuseries.

The series, which is currently untitled, follows the team through the most recent offseason. Cameras began rolling in January 2026, and the four-episode documentary is expected to premiere ahead of this year’s college football season. It’s from director and showrunner Micah Brown (Coach PrimeUntold: Sign Stealer).

Set in the intense world of college football, the docuseries follows the Texas Tech Red Raiders as Head Coach Joey McGuire builds a new team identity during a demanding offseason. Production began before transferring senior quarterback Brendan Sorsby lost a legal battle and was ruled ineligible after he checked himself into rehab for a gambling addiction in late April. He had placed tens of thousands of dollars in bets on games during his four-year NCAA playing career, including dozens of his own team’s games while at Indiana University.

“This has proven to be a landscape-altering offseason and we’ve been lucky to have a front-row seat,” said Greg Groggel, SVP Unscripted at Skydance Sports. “This series will present fans and viewers with an unprecedented window into everything that is defining college football today.”

Texas Tech won the Big 12 Championship Game in December for the first time in school history and was ranked in the national Top 10. The Red Raiders, however, lost to Oregon 23-0 in the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Day.

“Texas Tech football has one of the most passionate fanbases in college sports, and this docuseries will give them an unprecedented look at what it takes to build an elite program,” Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+, said in a statement Monday. “This series is exactly the kind of premium scripted and unscripted sports storytelling our subscribers love, and it will join the massive collection of world-class sports content on Paramount+.”

Skydance Sports is producing the series with Second Wind Creative.

“This documentary will give the Red Raider Nation an inside look at everything that makes Texas Tech Athletics special, the people, the passion, and the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines this program every day,” says Kirby Hocutt, Director of Athletics at Texas Tech University. “We are incredibly proud that Paramount+ selected Texas Tech for a groundbreaking documentary with rare access.”

Puff piece? Or will they go into the Brendan Sorsby of it all? This has a chance to actually be interesting, but will Paramount+ do it?
