The Best Dressed Stars From the 2026 BET Awards

Last night, the 2026 BET Awards took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California—and what a splashy fashion affair it was.

The special evening, hosted by comedian and actor Druski, celebrated Black excellence across the music, entertainment, and sports worlds. But before the ceremony and performances kicked off inside, the annual red carpet saw plenty of star power arrive in their finest evening looks. After all, half the fun of the BET Awards is the glamorous style serves, no?

A-listers who walked the step and repeat in style included nominees Teyana Taylor and Doechii, as well as performers such as Lauryn Hill, Cardi B, and Kehlani. The fashion M.O. for the night? It revolved around a colorful array of sculptural gowns that featured strong, powerful shapes.

Doechii, for one, walked the carpet in an archival brown DSquared2 crochet gown from 2006 (punctuated with vintage Louis Vuitton heels from spring 2009, no less). A tasteful, skin-bearing silhouette is something that Lizzo also took on with her body-clinging Christian Cowan gown, which had a semi-transparent effect.

Stars like Jodie Turner-Smith went graphic in a printed Roberto Cavalli jumpsuit, while Queen Latifah embraced volume in her three-dimensional textured robe coat. As for some of the snazzy gentlemen of the evening, meanwhile, Michael star Jaafar Jackson looked sleek in his silky Valentino shawl jacket—a fitting style for the current high-fashion pajama trend.
