The Late Cellist Jacqueline
The late cellist Jacqueline du Pre (doo-PRAY) often teamed up with her husband, conductor and pianist Daniel Barenboim to make recordings. Later this hour, we'll review a new CD that features Barenboim conducting du Pre in a performance with the Cleveland Orchestra. But the two also recorded chamber music together. From a 1969 recording they made with violinist Pinchas Zukerman, du Pre and Barenboim perform the Allegretto in B-flat by Beethoven. (EMI CMS 7 63124 2)
